Robin de Haan is a leadership coach, transformation advisor and facilitator specializing in leadership under pressure. Most days of the week, he works at a large data company with specialist technology and data capturing capabilities spanning two continents, where he leads a team of experts and advises board and executive levels.

Trained at the Dutch Royal Military Academy, Robin spent 15 years with the Dutch Special Forces, working with and leading teams on complex missions in some of the most demanding environments. He advised and worked closely with international military leaders, their special forces units, and high-ranking foreign officials across the Middle East and Africa, building an international network spanning military and diplomatic circles.

His unconventional background includes working as a chef in Michelin-starred restaurants alongside some of the Netherlands’ best chefs—an early career path that shaped his understanding of team spirit, precision, and collective success under pressure. During the corona period, while still on active duty and in between deployments, he began advising Dutch ministries, technology companies, and NGOs on security, transition, and resilience.

Drawing on this first-hand experience of leadership under pressure, Robin helps leaders and teams build trust, translate strategic intent into action, and strengthen ownership to achieve tangible results. His approach is informed by principles such as mission command, adapted to the realities of leadership and transformation in organisations.

Robin travels extensively, drawn particularly to Africa and Asia. Based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, he loves playing bass and enjoying Dutch summers with his wife and two cats.
