Roeland van Schaik is a Dutch based entrepreneur, interim executive and hands on advisor specializing in leadership development, organizational transformation and post-transaction growth. Working at the intersection of private equity, business strategy and people leadership, he helps companies scale, navigate change and unlock the full potential of teams.

Graduated as a lawyer at Leiden University (1994) Roeland began his career in legal and recruitment roles. After completing an Executive MBA at Rochester/Nyenrode (2002) he moved into strategy at PricewaterhouseCoopers, working as an assistant to the CEO and in performance improvement advisory. As an HR manager at HAL Investments, he was involved in growing the investment team as well as hiring portfolio company leadership. Later, he held roles as Business Development Manager at AudioNova and Sales & Operations manager at Schoonenberg, driving change initiatives in the turbulent hearing aid retail market.

In 2016, Roeland founded Breaktrue as a boutique operating partner firm, helping active PE firms and mid-sized companies to tackle leadership and organizational challenges, typically in buy & build settings. His work spans leadership development and hands-on interim management in the field of people & culture, working across a variety of industries. He acted as Interim Chief People & Culture at creative digital agency Happy Horizon (buy & build) and Interim People Lead at TrueKinetix, an award winning sports technology venture. With Breaktrue, he has been involved in the buy & build of NOK.5, a group of Dutch real estate maintenance companies, with strong local roots.

Roeland is co-founder of De Lichtjagers, a filmmakers' collective focused on authentic documentaries. As a passionate creative, he blends strategic insight with a people-first approach and soul in the game. He is regularly on stage with an improv theatre group, an avid endurance athlete and usually the last of all triathletes.
